In Episode One, CloudTrucks CEO, Tobenna Arodiogbu, chats with Jason Hurley. Jason has been a truck driver for over 18 years and an owner operator for 10 years. Jason shares his journey as a truck driver, his experience as an owner operator, plus his thoughts on technological advancements in the trucking Industry and his excitement about the future of trucking.

Tobenna Arodiogbu: Carriers need to invest more in technology because it’s not enough to have an empty truck. It’s also providing more visibility to the customers, to the shippers and other types of services there. What technologies are you most excited about or interested in right now?

Jason Hurley: I know we’ve talked about this in the past, but having the Samsara to help provide the brokers with the tracking location and information so they can keep track of us without having to install a million apps. Getting integrated into the Samsara keeps us from having to bounce from app to app to app to try to cover all the brokers.

Same thing with Fourkites, I know a lot of the bigger brokerages are integrating with them as well. and all of the tracking I mean everybody wants to know where their product is. You sit at home and you order something from Amazon and you look up that tracking code to see where your stuff is.

Truckers & Nerds is hosted by Tobenna Arodiogbu, CEO and founder of CloudTrucks.
